Show Notes for Sass & Style

This is the perfect time in your life for tips on Sass & Style with Thea Wood, Signature Stylist.

Your Sass is your attitude, your attitude comes from your confidence, and your confidence speaks to the world through your personal style without one word being said!

People immediately think you are what they see. The image you project is your way of telling the world who you are and how you feel about yourself. If you believe it, they believe it!

Research shows that a stranger makes a judgement of you within the first three seconds of seeing you, without one word being spoken. Thea and I want to make sure you are sending the message you want to be judged by through your style. Your initial impression speaks volumes, so we are going to make sure you mean what you are saying through your Sass & Style.

Also, we all need to look in the mirror every so often and reevaluate our style, but especially when you are reinventing yourself after a divorce, or other traumatic event in your life. You need to change your style to match your new life. You aren’t the same person you were before. You have different goals, different values, a different body and a different message to send to the world, so you want to be sure the message you are sending is the same message that the world is receiving.

Finding your sass is just as important as finding your style. When you start rebuilding your confidence, you start empowering your attitude, which is your sass. Your attitude is based on your confidence, and your confidence exudes through your personal style. They go hand-in-hand.

Your personal style should be considered your branding – branding yourself to the world. And you want to be consistent in your branding. It is one of our most powerful and controllable assets.

An important consideration is to be true to yourself and who you really are. Be consistent in your actions and your message. People can see right through inconsistencies.

Thea is a Signature Stylist, which is someone who can help you identify your personal style based on your lifestyle, your body and your personality. To learn about her services, you can find her at www.theawood.com. That is where you can also access her style videos and follow her blog.

If you don’t have access to a Signature Stylist, Thea recommends that you (more…)

Show Notes for Looking Your Best Without The Knife

November 18, 2011 we had Dr. Michael Gold with us. He is a board certified dermatologist and dermatological surgeon who talked about the different non-surgical procedures available that will tighten, brighten and repair your skin.

We started with the deep tissue treatment and worked our way toward the surface of the skin.

ENERGY BASE SYSTEMS:

Energy base systems are lasers, light sources and intense pulse light devises that provide the deeper treatments for the skin. These treatments help reverse the damage that has been done over the years. With all the new technologies available now, there is no need for surgery anymore.

Make sure you go to a doctor who has a good reputation. You want to only use doctors that are keeping up with the cutting edge techniques so that (more…)

Demi and Ashton Were Doomed

Filed under: Divorced Women — Christia @ 5:56 pm

Face it – there is such a thing as too much age difference. Demi and Ashton are the prime example, next to Anna Nicole Smith and what’s his name.

What do you expect when people are in two totally different phases of life? That’s not fair to ask of either person. The younger person is eventually feel held back, and the older person will be put in a position of doubting either themselves or their spouse. What sense does that make?

The craziness is we think we are different when it comes to love. “No one is like me.” “Once they have me, they won’t want anyone else.” Yada, yada, yada….

The reality is that if either spouse has a laps in integrity, that is all it takes. It won’t matter how wonderful you are. The fact is that if they do it once, they will do it again. And do not let them convince you otherwise. People have control over their choices. You can always say NO. And if you choose to say YES, then you are also choosing the consequences of that choice. Their behavior is in their control. And whether you choose to allow it or not is all in your control.

So here we have another case of (more…)

Show Notes for Dating After Divorce Online

The dating world has grown with the times. It has gone from the simple meeting someone in the grocery store, to meeting online.

It was a logical progression, I guess. With the world being driven by the internet and social media, it makes sense that dating would be no different.

But if you have been out of the loop, as I have, chances are  you don’t quite know where and how to start.

So, we tried to come up with a general game plan for how to embark on this new adventure in dating for the most efficient and effective experience. And if you are as busy as I am, that is how you want it to be.

John Martinuk, with Millionairematch.com, and Robin Salzillo Campbell, a freelance writer who, in researching for an article, found love on John’s site, provide insight and words of wisdom for our quest.

A little on Millionairematch.com. The site’s statistics of users: 32% between 18-30 years of age, 45.5% of users are men, 54.5% are women, 33% are in 45-60 age range, 10-14% are verified millionaires, and 14% of members are verified as opposed to 86% unverified.

Robin Salzillo Campbell has been recently divorce, but had no interest in doing the bar scene to meet people. In her contemplating how she wanted to maneuver this new world of dating, she decided to write an article on the different options for dating after 50. Online dating was a natural choice, considering our world is so cyber and social media driven. Also, having lived in her current city for 30 years, she was interested in a site that could reach outside her part of the world.

Robin chose Millionairematch.com because it offered a wider demographic of successful minded people. It had an in depth questionnaire, provided safety features, was user friendly and catered to a higher caliber of client. She also chose it over a matchmaker because she felt that she was a good judge of character on her own. She didn’t want to be limited by the smaller client base and someone else’s opinion. Matchmakers work from their paid client base, which limits possibilities.

Here are some of the guidelines we came up with:

First you have to find the sites that you are comfortable with. Most sites let you look through there site free of charge. If not, you need to either ask friends if they have any experience on that site, or make sure that site represents the caliber of person you are interested in. John says that many people belong to multiple sites because of the different  types of people each site represents, and because it is really a numbers game. Your choice.

Also, it is good to know that many sites have a limited reach based on approximately a 250 mile range. So, you would have to set up multiple profiles if you wanted to extend the area considered. This means a profile for east coast, one for the west coast, one for your area, etc.

After picking your site/s, you have to decide if you want to be a paid member. John says that being a paid member is a more pro-active approach. Robin says that it allows you to tailor your preferences and who contacts you. She also like the ability to screen the contacts and have the safety feature of blocking.

Show Notes for Feeling Your Best With Dr. Jonny Bowden

Filed under: Healthy Lifestyle for Women After Divorce,Radio Show Notes — Christia @ 12:00 pm

I have always been fascinated with the power of food. And last Friday I was lucky enough to have as my guest Dr. Jonny Bowden, the Rogue Nutritionist.

I have been following Dr. Jonny for years. He is so knowledgeable. He likes to call himself a research junkie, and I believe it. The information flows out of him like a fountain. He is amazing.

I had so many questions and so little time. But here is a brief rundown of what we were able to cover.

The connection Dr. Jonny and I have are our messages of mastering your health, body and personal power. Addictions are not the cause, they are symptoms. Whether it is food, drugs, alcohol or cigarettes, these are behaviors stemming form a much deeper cause that must be addressed for your success.

When you learn how to master your personal power, you can apply it to all other aspect of your life. But the symptoms can get out of hand when the source is not addressed.

Nutrition, what we put in our bodies, is the key to damage control and detoxification. It is the key to warding off aging and illness. Food is nature’s medicine.

Some of the random questions I asked were (more…)

The Most Selfish Woman in America Show Notes With Cindy Ratzlaff

Filed under: Divorced Women,Happiness After Divorce,Radio Show Notes — Christia @ 3:18 pm

I was lucky enough to have Cindy Ratzlaff, co-author of Queen of Your Own Life, as my guest yesterday on my talk show. Here’s the link in case you want to listen to it http://www.voiceamerica.com/show/1990/the-most-selfish-woman-in-america.

Queen of Your Own Life and The Most Selfish Woman in America are soul sisters in the literary world. These books share the message of empowerment and encouragement with a dose of humor on the side. Cindy, along with her best friend of 30 years Kathy Kinney, wrote Queen of Your Own Life as their call to action for grown up women everywhere to celebrate the second half of their life!

Our messages are so similar because women are more alike than different. We all share some of the same issues, no matter what our history or where we are in our journey in life. Cindy, having been a corporate executive, and I, having been a stay home Mom for 20 years, still face the same issues of any women in mid-life: self doubt, anxiety of getting older, questioning our self-worth.

This is a time in our life when our friendships are so important and need to be nurtured. Our friends can remind us of our gifts, talents and experiences that we loose sight of in times of stress. Which is what happened when one day Cindy lost her job to the downturn of the economy. Her supportive friend Kathy reminded her that the only thing that had changed from the day before is that Cindy had lost her job. Cindy was still the intelligent, fabulous, vibrant woman she was when she was yesterday when she was employed. She had not dumbed down overnight.

So the “Crowning Ceremony” was born. Cindy and Kathy started encouraging women to look in a mirror, admire themselves, and declare

The Most Selfish Woman in America Show Notes with Laura Fenamore

Well, it happened! My first broadcast of my radio show on VoiceAmerica Talk Radio yesterday!

It was fantastic! I love it! Great fun!

I want to share the experience with you, so I am providing you with a brief rundown of what was on the show.

My guest was Laura Fenamore, founder of www.OnePinky.com. Laura is a woman with an amazing story, and has turned her life experience into a mission to guide women to love what they see in the mirror. Her popular Body Image Mastery program helps women lose weight, reclaim their self-esteem, and start living bold, happy lives.

Laura’s having overcome her own battle with addiction, obesity, and eating disorders, she released 100 pounds 24 years ago and began a journey of guiding other women to live more joyous, balanced lives.

We talked about:

* Taking responsibility for your own happiness and your future, no longer being a victim; taking control of your health and your body

* How fear is a crippler – it can stop people from making major change in their marriages, their jobs, with their bodies, and how fear is self-imposed

* You have to release the old, negative tapes from your past and make new, positive ones though your thoughts and environmental input

-Being around positive people, not negative ones, which is sometimes challenging

-Saying positive things about yourself, not self-deprecating things

-Exposing yourself to motivational and inspirational input, not negative media sensationalism

* How society perceives over weight people, especially the way the media tells us that we are not good enough if we are not bone thin, and others buy into that thinking, perpetuating the madness

* The importance of acknowledging that feelings are self-imposed; no one can make you feel anything; only you can accept those feeling that you are going to feel, and once you realize that, you become empowered and in control of your happiness.

* Participating in the negative perpetuates the negative, and that is what you are trying to get away from. Don’t participate!

Laura also covered some (more…)

Positive Reinvention Can Happen to You!

Wow! How great is this? I released my negative past and the power it had over me. I opened myself up to the positive possibilities of my future. And sure enough, something incredible happens.

As you know, I published my first book in March of this year, available on the Shop page. Through taking my own advice, I started traveling and exploring the world. Besides having an adventure of a lifetime, I also came alive again.

It is a cycle. The more alive I feel, the more open I am to the power of the Universe. The more open I am to the Universe, the more positive things happen to me. The happier my thoughts, the happier I am. And when I chose positive thoughts, I get positive results on a daily basis. Now how great is that?

Back to the cool thing that happened… I get a call from VoiceAmerica Talk Radio, the largest internet radio station in the country. They want me to do a talk show based on my book The Most Selfish Woman in America – How to Make Your Divorce the Best Thing That Ever Happened to You!

Now, I know I want a successful, fulfilling career that benefits others and brings wealth and abundance, but I never thought of a talk show. Yes, I can talk – really talk. To anything that will sit still long enough. I just was not specific on how I was going to get it. I just visualized that my ultimate goal is to be happy.

So, as of October 14, 2011, on Friday afternoons from 2:00 – 3:00 pm PST, 5:00 – 6:00 pm EST I am going to have a live talk show on www.VoiceAmerica.com. The show is called The Most Selfish Woman In America – How to Make Your Dream Life Your Reality. You can find it at http://www.voiceamerica.com/show/1990/the-most-selfish-woman-in-america.  We are going to talk about how you do not have to be miserable anymore! It is time for you to take control of your future and your happiness. It is time to become the leading lady in your own life!

I can not emphasize enough how (more…)

Are You Living Your Dream Life After Divorce?

I want you to ask yourself a question. “Is this how I want to live the rest of my life?” OK, two questions. “Is this all there is?”

If your answer is “I don’t THINK so!”, then it is time to take a good, long look at your life, where you are right now. Are you living the life you have always dreamed of living? Are you crazy happy with who you are now and the life you have created for yourself?

Not to worry. I am here to guide you. It is not too late to make your Dream Life your reality, and I will show you how. Due to multiple requests, I am now offering personal consultations for guiding you out of the darkness of misery and into your bright, happy future. (Check on the Shop page for details.)

You still have the whole second half of your life to be as happy as possible. If your current circumstances do not live up to your dreams, change them.

If you have lived through the chaos that came from divorce, or any other traumatic event, your life is either going through major change now or has in the recent past. And you can dictate how those changes will form your future. Since your life is in upheaval anyway, why not make the outcome the Dream Life you have always envisioned for yourself? It is in your control, and the sooner you embrace that fact, the happier you will be with the new life you create for yourself.

You can choose to either replace your old life with a similar, stagnate existence, or you can fuel your change to produce a healthier, happier, more dynamic life. You can settle for the familiar, or you can have the courage reach for the stars.  I vote for the stars, but it is your choice.

Repeat after me: (more…)

Be Brave!

It’s time to be BRAVE!

It is time for you to step out of your comfort zone, and do something new and daring and challenging! It’s time for you to push your boundaries and open yourself up to what life has to offer. It’s Your Turn!

I just returned from another stint in France only this time I did something I have never done before: I went to spend time with a man I met when I was there in March. What was I thinking?

You can’t do that. You don’t do that. You don’t up-and-go to a country where you barely speak the language to see a man you rented a gite from and knew for a mere eight days before flying half way across the world for a three-week rendezvous.

No idea what possessed me, but I did it anyway! I gathered up the courage, threw all caution to the wind, and (more…)
